For the eight year in a row, Trees Atlanta joined with community members and volunteers to plant trees in East Atlanta Village (EAV). Dozens of volunteers met in Brownwood Park and braved cool temperatures and threatening rain clouds on a Saturday in late October to plant, mulch, and water trees in city right of ways. The group installed about 100 trees in spaces that were in need of canopy along Glenwood, Clifton, and other streets in the village, bringing additional shade and beauty to the neighborhood for years to come.
Trees Atlanta is a nationally recognized nonprofit citizens’ group that protects and improves Atlanta’s urban forest by planting, conserving, and educating. Founded in 1985, they work to address Atlanta’s tree loss, protect its forests, and create new green space. Empowered by volunteers, Trees Atlanta serves the entire metro Atlanta area, and has grown to become one of Atlanta’s most widely known and supported nonprofit organizations.
