Kids carrying baskets, buckets, and bags will careen around the hills and valleys of Brownwood Park on Saturday, April 15, looking for more than 1,000 candy-stuffed eggs. A few lucky ones also will find silver and golden eggs filled with money. All children then will be invited to come to the park pavilion to express their creativity by coloring and decorating hard-boiled eggs. This will be followed by exciting spoon-egg relay races on the basketball court.
These egg-tivities are part of the annual East Atlanta Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by the East Atlanta Kids Club, and co-sponsored by Living Waters Bible Church and East Atlanta Parents Network.
The event kicks off at 10:00am inside the Brownwood Park Recreation Center, located at 602 Brownwood Avenue in East Atlanta, and ends at 12:30pm. Kids of all ages will make Easter- and spring-themed crafts and play other exciting games inside the Rec Center until 11:00am when the eager young egg hunters will be unleashed into the park.
Parents and neighbors are invited to donate candy and hard-boiled eggs to the effort, as well as to volunteer. To volunteer or donate, please contact East Atlanta Kids Club Program Director Amechi Okoh at aokoh@eastatlantakids.org or 404-627-8050.
