A “Love Your Library Clean Up and Keg Party” will kick off the 2013 Friends of East Atlanta Library GardenQuest program. Volunteers will gather on February 23 between 3:00pm and 6:00pm to clean up the library grounds and stick around for a beer afterward. A gardening and landscape expert will be on hand to give a few pointers and direction for early spring maintenance of the library grounds as well as some hints to get your own yard and garden ready for the next growing season. While there, volunteers can check out some of the great gardening books available at the East Atlanta Library.
Last year’s successful GardenQuest program provided six workshops offered on one Saturday and Sunday from some of East Atlanta’s best experts. This year’s workshops will be held over several Saturdays, beginning with the “Love Your Library” cleanup and continuing through EAV’s Earth Day on April 20. Other workshops and dates will be announced soon. To be notified by email through the Friends newsletter, please contact Katina VanCronkhite at friendsofeal@gmail.com.
