Zoo Atlanta Welcomes New Vice President And Chief Advancement Officer

The Zoo Atlanta Executive Team is pleased to announce that Zoe Nieminen has joined the Zoo as Vice President and Chief Advancement Officer. Nieminen started work in her new capacity on May 31, 2013.
Nieminen brings more than 13 years of professional fundraising experience to her role at the head of the Zoo’s Department of Institutional Advancement.  Her fundraising career originally began at Zoo Atlanta, where she served for 10 years before accepting a position as Director of Development for Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities. Her previous experience with nonprofit organizations also includes work at the Seattle Symphony.
“We’re delighted to welcome Zoe back to the Zoo and are proud to continue to attract leaders who personify the vision, talent and expertise necessary to help our organization succeed in an important new era in our history,” said Raymond B. King, President and CEO. “Our community can expect great things from this team and from Zoo Atlanta.”
Nieminen is a member of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Georgia Planned Giving Council. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.
