Winter at Oakland Cemetery: Camp, Tours & 50-Year Anniversary

By Kristy Gomez

As we wrap up the year, Oakland is giving thanks for our community and your year-long support. Whether you attend our events like Illumine or Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween tours, participate in our daily history tours, buy house plants at the Spring or Fall Plant Sale, send your kids to Oakland Camp, hold your event in the Visitor Center, shop at the Oakland Store, become an Oakland member, or hang out in the gardens and post pics – you help us to preserve, restore, enhance, and share historic Oakland Cemetery with the public. To learn how you can support the preservation of this Atlanta treasure for generations to come, visit oaklandcemetery.com/support.

Now, mark your calendars: 2026 is an exciting year at Oakland. In addition to expanding our educational programming and restoring more of the Cemetery (including the iconic Main Gate), we will celebrate Historic Oakland Foundation’s 50-year anniversary as an organization – or as we like to call it: our Golden Jubilee. Stay tuned for our plans to celebrate the last fifty years, and our dreams and aspirations for the next fifty. Learn more about supporting Oakland, including the restoration of the Main Gate at the Digging Deeper blog at oaklandcemetery.com.
