VIVA Las EAV a Massive Success

By Nancy Carpenter and Sarah Dyne

Neighbor in Need (NIN) and EACA want to extend sincere thanks for all the generous sponsorship and donations that have come in over the years. These contributions will guarantee that NIN can continue to effectively provide low income seniors with emergency home repairs.

Viva Las EAV, held on October 13 at the East Atlanta Village Famer’s Market location on Stokeswood Avenue, was a spectacular evening filled with delicious food and cocktails, live music, talent that lit up the stage, and casino games that brought fun and excitement to the Village.

The event raised over $25,182 in financial donations, an additional $7,848which included both ticket and raffle tickets sales, and $7,200through in-kind donations. The net gain for future projects is $25,000. All involved are humbled by the outpouring of support from friends and businesses in and around East Atlanta.

Our financial sponsors included the following organizations. $5,000+ level)The East Atlanta Strut; City Council Member Natalyn Archibong, District 5; Epic Development, and Bright Star Compass (Village Stacks); $750+ level: The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm; David Garrison, Origins Real Estate; Lynne Garton, Nest Atlanta Real Estate Group; McManamy, McLeod, Heller; Dr. Annie Price, Ormewood Animal Hospital; and Tibbets Workshop.

Gratitude is also extended to in-kind sponsors who covered a large percent of up-front and necessary expenses of putting on the event as well asthose who donated to the raffle prize pool.

As any event in the Village require, an enormous thank-you goes out to the volunteerswho helped on all fronts. The event could not have happened without every person who donated time, energy, and enthusiasm to put this event on.

A special note of thanks goes out to an amazing addition to the NIN team, Sarah Dyne (catering, party planning, decorator extraordinaire).  This talented young woman jumped in to take the Neighbor in Need East Atlanta fundraising designs to the next level.

Neighbor in Need appreciates everyone’s support and looks forward to its continuing mission to keep low income seniors safe in their homes by providing emergency home repairs.  Year to date in 2018, Neighbor in Need has completed over 52 repair projects costing over $24,000.  Since inception in 2010, Neighbor in Need has completed over 180 repair projects costing over $177,000.

Keep a look out for our 2019 Gala save-the-date announcement coming early 2019!
