By Carlen Hultgren
After an incredible second year with over 500 participants, huge cash prizes and over $6,000 raised for Burgess-Peterson Academy, the EAV RunFest returns with all of your favorite features and this year adding so much more. Get ready for a full evening of racing and active fun.
With a 5K, two 1 mile competitives, and a half-mile fun run throughout the evening, the racing will be non-stop from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. This year’s race will be in the heart of East Atlanta Village with the Start and Finish on Flat Shoals Avenue in the middle of all the restaurants and all the action. Stick around after the race for activities for the whole family and an unmatched post-race party.
This will be one of the only running events in Atlanta where participants are able to race multiple times and compete in an overall competition. In addition to great age group awards, cash prizes will be given out for the 5K, the 1 miles, and combined scores. Awards will be presented following the 1 Mile men’s race at approximately 8:30pm.
The date is Sunday, September 4, 2016 and packet pickup and registration the day before at Big Peach Running Company in Decatur at 114 East Trinity Place. The day of the race, packet pickup and registration will be at Village Fitness, 1231 Glenwood Avenue.. Day-of walk-up registration will be available. Prices range from $10-$30.
The 5K run starts at 6:00pm, the Half Mile Fun Run at 7:15pm, the 1 mile women’s competitive at 7:15pm, and the 1 mile men’s competitive at 7:45pm. Both 1 Mile Competitives are two, half-mile laps around EAV.
