Summerhill Neighborhood Fall Fest

By David H. Glass
On September 29, 2012 the Summerhill Neighborhood will be hosting the First Annual Summerhill Fall Fest. The conventional 5K road race has been replaced by a BYOBW (Bring Your Own Big Wheel) race. The race starts at 9:00am on the corner of Little and Hill Streets. It is only $5.00 to participate and the required Waiver can be found on the festival’s website:  www.Summerhillfallfest.com.
After the race, Ami Street will be blocked off for a street festival, which includes music, artists, and food vendors. Terrapin Brewery has signed on as the sponsored beer vendor. The festival runs from 11:00am to 6:00pm. The festival is free to the public.
All proceeds will be donated to the Organized Neighbors of Summerhill (ONS), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
For those who are unfamiliar with Summerhill, it is the neighborhood between Hill Street and Turner Field. Georgia Avenue drives directly through the middle of the neighborhood. Since parking is limited, please feel free to take a walk on September 29 and enjoy what the festival has to offer.
