Sign Toppers in EAV

By Carlen Hultgren

Have you seen these street sign toppers around the neighborhood? They have been a part of East Atlanta since the 1990s and were once displayed on every corner letting residents and visitors know where East Atlanta stops and starts.

Over the years many toppers have gone missing. Now, EACA, (East Atlanta Community Association), is on a mission to replace them by the end of 2022, but  needs your help.

EACA has been awarded a grant for nearly $2,000 to aid in this task, but more is still needed to reach the fundraising goal of $4,375 and install a topper on every street in the community. A tax-deductible donation of $35 covers the cost of a two-sided topper and the hardware for installation.

After $4,375, is raised, community members will be asked to volunteer and facilitate the installation in early October. If you’re interested in volunteering, EACA is looking for at least 25 people who can help. After the signs are installed, everyone will grab a bite and drink in the village.

If you would like to donate time or money to the project, please reach out to: communications@eaca.net for more information.
