August 13, 2020

Submitted by Nathan Clubb

SAND will be holding the election for the 2021 SAND officers and committee chairs during the October SAND meeting. All members with voting rights can run for office and/or vote during the election.

Nathan Soldart, Atlanta BeltLine Community Engagement Manager, joined the meeting to discuss updates to the Subarea 3 Master Plan (the BeltLine from Glenwood Avenue to Hill Street. Changes made as a result of the July SAND meeting include the Ormewood Avenue bridge being listed as a historic structure for preservation and Red’s Urban Farm as a possible future public greenspace. Residents can make their own comments on the plan at the BeltLine’s website: https://beltline.org/the-project/planning-and-community-engagement/master-plan-updates-feedback/.

Greg Giuffrida provided an update on the vision of the South Moreland Avenue Working Group. Other members from SAND include Paul Bolster, Crystal Porter, Brent Huff, and Nathan Clubb.

Nathan Clubb provided an update on the NPU-W Impact Grant which is being administered by the NPU-W and will be spent on traffic box artwork and an NPU-wide Cluetown book. If anyone has suggestions for clues to be included for the SAND neighborhoods, please send those to president@sandatlanta.org.
