SAND Meeting Minutes – Thursday, October 13, 2022 SAND Meeting Minutes

Call to order.

Announcements (5 minutes)

Voting rights (3 meetings, or $10 membership). SAND elections 2023 Leadership and Chairs:  President, Kate Champion; Vice President, Mike Snyder; Treasurer, Brent Huff; Secretary, TBD; Beautification, Steve Carpenter; Communications, Sarah Divya; Land Use and Zoning (LUZ), Max Ade; Transportation, TBD; Public Safety, TBD; Social, TBD; Trolleys, Steve Carpenter; Webmaster, Christian Mendonça.. All approved.

SAND elections 2023 Neighborhood Representatives: Boulevard Heights (BOHO), Amanda Harwood; Benteen Park, Joshua Lorenz and David McElroy; Custer McDonough-Guice (CMG), TBD; Glenwood Park, TBD; North Ormewood Park, Josh Milner; Ormewood Park, Anh Nguyen; Woodland Hills, Angela Etheridge. All approved.

South Moreland Avenue Working Group (SMAWG) Representatives from SAND: Brent Huff, Paul Bolster, Greg Giuffrida. All approved.

NPU Representatives for SAND – Call for volunteers to fill SAND’s eight open spots. 

City/State/School/Other Elected Officials (5 minutes per) 

Mitsah Henry from Commissioner Arrington’s office: 10/19 YouTube meeting for Fulton County TV page/channel. 10/17 and 10/19 free screenings for Breast Cancer Awareness Month provided by Fulton County. Early voting starts on 10/17.

Special Guests (5 minutes per) 

Paul Bolster – The Porch Press: The Porch Press needs financial support to continue publishing monthly newspapers for the NPU-W neighborhoods.

Steve Stuglin – CMG Neighborhood Renaming Effort Update: Mid-spring is new target for a decision on neighborhood renaming. 

Committee Reports

Communication (2 minutes): Like SAND on Facebook, and follow us on Instagram and Twitter. Please submit any ideas for the newsletter to us. 

Treasurer (5 minutes): Amazon Smile / Kroger Rewards. Trolleys are available for $45 unpainted. How should SAND reinvest revenue generated by the 2022 Makers Festival Survey? Available on the SAND Website: https://forms.gle/3eL2V4DtFbGKmZgK7.

Social (5 minutes): Celebration of Red’s life at Red’s Farm Public Safety (5 minutes).

Transportation (5 minutes): Adopt a Topper Program update.
