Spring is in full swing, and it’s a perfect time to get outside and enjoy the weather. It’s also the time of year when many thoroughly “spring cleaning” their homes. Before throwing away unwanted items, remember that the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts household items like furniture, home accessories, lamps and appliances. Since its opening in 2001, the Atlanta Habitat ReStore has diverted more than 7,700 tons of materials from local landfills. The donated materials are sold to the public for reuse, and net proceeds directly support Atlanta Habitat for Humanity’s affordable housing mission. Because of these household donations, Atlanta families are able to achieve their dream of owning a home.
Drop-Off Donation Hours are Monday – Saturday 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, and volunteers are there to assist you. If you have items too big to fit in your car, call the ReStore at 404-525-2114 x155 to arrange a free pick-up. All donations are tax-deductible.
For more information, visit the ReStore website: www.atlantahabitat.org/restore. The store is located at 271 Chester Ave. SE, Atlanta, GA 30316
