On the evening of May 23, Halidom Eatery celebrated its official opening with a festive ribbon cutting ceremony, after a soft opening earlier in the week. Hosted by husband and wife owners Hal Blackman and Rosa Moreno, invited guests, most dressed in pink, were treated to a plethora of pink bubbly and cocktails and the inspirational history of the Eatery. Once the ribbon was cut, the crowd was allowed access to the food hall and were treated to to food, drinks, music, and a magnificent build-out to house the many vendors, sure to become a favorite spot for many southeast Atlantans.
Promising a gastronomic journey including local and regional culinary brands, there are eleven food stalls, a plush bar, an elite event area, and a carefully curated outdoor green space, Halidorm will create a vibrant new community space along Moreland Avenue in East Atlanta.
Located at the IST Management headquarters’ base at 1341 Moreland Avenue, it is the inaugural phase of a mixed-use domain, Halidom will house residential, retail spaces, and a park, offering an oasis midst the urban hustle of Moreland Avenue. “Halidom” resonates with the 12th-century term, symbolizing “sanctuary.”
The art deco inspired food hall, with a touch of tropical flair, is slated to be one of the most unique in Georgia. The imaginative atmosphere transports guests to an environment reminiscent of the Caribbean or South Beach. The eatery is strategically laid out to allow visitors to meander through pockets of indoor and outdoor spaces, enjoying a variety of artisanal vendors, dining spaces, lounges, and collaborative zones. Bold, vibrant colors and graphics are inspired by Art Deco heritage. The combination of layout, material, and curation, will make Halidom Eatery a local favorite, a destination and social hub unlike anything else in the southeast Atlanta area.
Highlights include: Indoor seating for 320 guests, outdoor seating for 123 guests, a 30-seat upscale bar, an open-air cafe permit (guests may carry alcoholic beverages outside onto the green space), free parking, a dedicated concierge service, a streamlined order and pickup station, private and semi-private events space, and a sprawling 2-acre outdoor green space.
The eleven culinary vendors as of this date are:
Press Waffle Co., Luze Mexicano Cocina, Mad Dads Philly’s, Mango Indian Grill, Locale Island Eats, Deallo’s Seafood, Just Dogs ATL, Wasabi Sushi & Ramen, Luca’s Brooklyn Pizzeria, Grind Time Coffee Co., Buena Papa Fry Bar, and Bar La Rose, named after owner Rosa Moreno.
Halidom Eatery, located at 1341 Moreland Avenue, is open Monday through Thursday 11:00am to 9:00pm, Friday and Saturday 11:00am to 10:00pm, and Sunday 11:00am to 8:00pm. Check it out; you won’t be disappointed!
