Ormewood Park Makers Festival Provides Money to the Community

By Mike Gardner

The SAND Neighborhood Association put on another successful Ormewood Park Makers Festival in May.  The festival gave local artists and craftspeople the opportunity to show off their work and included teaching workshops on a variety of topics. SAND is committed to using money raised from the festival to improve the SAND neighborhoods.

SAND grants this year will support a variety of programs and services, including:

  • Early childhood education
  • After-school programs
  • Vision rehabilitation
  • Parent-teacher organizations
  • STEM education

This year, SAND has awarded grants to the following organizations:

  • Easter seals – Guice Child Development Center
  • Ormewood Church
  • National Federation of the Blind – Thelma Godwin Scholarship Fund
  • Parkside Elementary PTA
  • Benteen Elementary PTO
  • ANCS Elementary PTCA
  • Genesis Innovation Girls Academy and Boys Academy
  • East Atlanta Kids Club

SAND is proud to support these organizations and the important work they do in our community. We are grateful to the festival sponsors, attendees, and vendors who helped make this year’s event a success.
