The 2025 Ormewood Park Makers Festival (OPMF) has plans for expansion. A second venue, a porch on the corner of Delaware and Eastwood, will feature an acoustic stage, expanding the musical footprint of the festival, as well as attracting more activity.
“The idea is that we could put beer sales in that area as well, and liven up that end of the festival,” volunteer Greg Schultz said.
Other festival expansions include growing the Kid Zone, as well as the number of workshops being offered. Organizers are “looking for individuals who could be a Maker providing demonstrations, workshops, make-and-takes, presentations or other related activities.” They would like the event to include learning as well as marketing.
The OPMF website is now live. Artists and Makers are encouraged to register early. The deadline for registration is Friday, September 19 for each 10×10 space. The fee for a booth is $125. Since it is a curated Artist Market, the booth fee will be returned if not selected.
The deadline for registering as a food and beverage vendor is also September 19; the booth fee is $150 for carts or tents and $200 for food trucks.
Starting in late August, SAND neighborhoods will see “Proud Sponsor” signs sprouting in yards as neighbors become supporters of the festival. OPMF is reciprocating this support by offering limited free booth space to community nonprofits. Last year, members of Maynard Jackson High School’s robotic team held demonstrations in their donated booth.
