Ormewood Bridge to Be Nominated

This shall serve as notification that from the Executive Director of the Atlanta Urban Design Commission, that the ORMEWOOD AVENUE BRIDGE LANDMARK BUILDING / SITE (LBS) at 832 and 841 Ormewood Avenue and Atlanta Beltline Corridor, SE. In accordance with Section 16-20.005.C. of the Code of Ordinances, the property proposed for inclusion in the ORMEWOOD AVENUE BRIDGE LANDMARK BUILDING / SITE (LBS) is protected and controlled by the Interim Controls provided for in Chapter 20 of the City of Atlanta Zoning Ordinance to the extent provided by that category of protection to which it has been nominated. This protection begins on the date of the attached “Notice of Intent to Nominate” (August 5, 2021) and continues for a maximum of 180 days.

During the 180-day “interim development control” period, no alterations, renovations, additions, new construction, demolition, or site work of any kind is permitted on the property proposed for inclusion in the ORMEWOOD AVENUE BRIDGE LANDMARK BUILDING / SITE (LBS) unless the required Certificates of Appropriateness for such work has been secured from the Office of Design’s Historic Preservation Staff. This review process may include a review and approval by the Urban Design Commission at a public hearing. Please refer all building permit applications of any type for the addresses within the proposed ORMEWOOD AVENUE BRIDGE LANDMARK BUILDING / SITE (LBS) to the Office of Design. 

In addition to the “Notice of Intent to Nominate” mentioned above, attached is a general plat map of the proposed ORMEWOOD AVENUE BRIDGE LANDMARK BUILDING / SITE (LBS) and a listing of the property addresses within the proposed ORMEWOOD AVENUE BRIDGE LANDMARK BUILDING / SITE (LBS).
