Neighborhood Election Results

By Paul Bolster

Although the districts for the Georgia House, Senate, and County Commission encompass voters outside the Porch Press area, we are giving you some of the results from the precincts in our area. It lets you see how your neighbors voted. In case you would like to give them advice, we now know who most of our local officials will be for the next two years. Only in the case of District Attorney Fani Willis is there a Republican opponent in November. However, there are two runoffs on June 18 that do need your vote.

Fulton County

State Senator – Nan Orrock                                               82%

Sheriff – Patrick “Pat” Labat                                              67%

District Attorney – Fani Willis                                           86%

US House District 5 – Nikema Williams won her primary without opposition.

US House District 14 – Clarence Blalock, formerly of Grant Park, who ran in the last City Council District 1 election, was one of four candidates in the Democratic primary for the Congressional seat in Northeast Georgia. Blalock edged his nearest opponent by 100 votes in the primary. He will be in the runoff on June 18 for the opportunity to challenge Marjorie Taylor Greene. He told The Porch Press, “It’s an uphill climb but I think voters want an alternative to a showboat. I hope my efforts get a few more votes in this district for Biden in November.” To see his campaign issues, go to www.clarenceforga.com or call him on his cell phone 706-266-6628.
