Neighbor in Need Big Winner in Poker Tournament

Neighbor In Need
By Carlen Hultgren
March 26 was a big day for Neighbor in Need, a fundraising tournament held at the Midway Pub. The biannual Neighbor in Need Poker Tournament began mid-morning and by the end of the day there were many winners.
The Midway, along with the Atlanta Poker Club/Poker with a Purpose and Blue Point Brewery, sponsored this season’s event. Entry was free, including 300 chips, and each player could then add to their stash by donating to buy more chips. The event was capped at 50 entrants. It was a great time for a great cause.
Successfully collecting $1,755 in player’s donation and raffles, the organization considered it a great outcome for a rainy Saturday.  Congratulations are in order to the winners of the tournament:
1st place: Chris Wilcox ($500, case of Blue Point Brewery IPA)
2nd place: Kyle Caldwell (Home Depot and Midway gift card, case of Blue Point Brewery IPA)
3rd place: Kati Heller (Starbucks and case of Blue Point Brewery IPA, raffle including Big Daddy Biscuits)
Neighbor in Need would like to say ‘Thank You!’ to its wonderful sponsors and everyone who came out, played, or just had a good time. The next tournament is on Black Friday — Save the date!
