Kick Start Martial Arts (KSMA) has settled into its new home as one of the businesses in the hip, new retail community, the Beacon, that sits on the edge of Chosewood and Grant Park. Their new address is 1039 Grant Street, Suite A22, just a couple of miles from their previous location on Moreland Avenue. “We chose the new location because of the need for more space for our growing customer base, as well as all of the amenities for parents to enjoy while their child is in class, including the Beltline,” said Master Renard Beaty, fourth-degree black belt in the Korean martial arts discipline of Tang Soo Do. “We look forward to welcoming members of the community to our new location when we host a Grand Re-Opening on June 22.”
Serving East Atlanta, Grant Park, Edgewood, Ormewood Park, Kirkwood, and their surrounding communities, the new 4,000-square-foot facility, custom-built for martial arts training, accommodates students from 5 to 105. What makes Kick Start Martial Arts different from other martial arts schools is its approach. “We not only focus on excellence and discipline in the form and function of Tang Soo Do, we do it on the foundation of leadership development,” said Beaty. “We go beyond the tactical and practical—we focus on using Tang Soo Do to develop the entire person, young or seasoned.”
The community and friends of KSMA, new and old, are invited to visit the new studio and learn more about new class schedules, training programs, and summer camps during the grand re-opening event. There will be refreshments, demonstrations by the KSMA Demo Team, give-aways every hour, free martial arts workshops (Stranger Danger, Bully Buster, and Basic lessons), and a chance to win one month of free martial arts training.
“At Kick Start Martial Arts, we emphasize discipline, leadership, and doing our personal best,” said Beaty. “I am proud to say our students stand out because they are focused learners who show respect for the craft and work at improving their form and techniques week over week by putting in the work.”
Interested students and their families are welcome at any time to learn more about Kick Start Martial Arts, its summer camp, or to observe a class for free. Call 404-664-3485 or visit www.ksmartialartsatlanta.com.
The grand re-opening will take place on June 22 from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
