As the end of the year approaches, Oakland. Cemetery is excited to bring back two iconic scavenger hunts: the Harvest Hunt and the Holiday Hunt. The Harvest Hunt runs from November 1 through 30, and the Holiday Hunt runs from December 1 through 31. Both scavenger hunts are great for groups and are the perfect seasonal activity to complete with family or friends visiting for the holidays.
Back again this year is Oakland’s Wreath Sale. From November 6 to December 9, order your fresh and fragrant Fraser fir wreathes and greenery to decorate your home this holiday season. Orders can be placed online and picked up as early as the week before Thanksgiving.
On December 2 and 3, Oakland will host its new Holiday Spirit event, a free and festive day of wintery activities including a holiday market, an “Eternal Tour of Homes” with mausolea decorated for the season, and much more. November’s tour schedule at Oakland is stacked with unique opportunities to learn about and experience one of Atlanta’s most historic sites. The new tour series, “Nightfall Chronicles” allows attendees to experience the mystery and enchantment of Oakland as the sun sets while enjoying a complimentary beverage and listening to tales of the cemetery and some of its most fascinating residents. And speaking of beverages, coming up on November 16 is Nightfall Chronicles: Malts and Vaults, a tour of Atlanta’s brewing history which also features a complimentary adult beverage. Other upcoming tours include Black Magnolias on November 19, Fear and Accusation: the Leo Frank Story on November 25, and History, Mystery, and Mayhem on November 26.
