As winter turns to spring, Ecosystem Farm is busy prepping fields, starting seedlings, cooing over growing chicks, and battling dandelions that seem to double every day. While turning them all into wine is tasty, it does not seem to have dented their numbers. The farm is getting ready to welcome neighbors with fresh eggs, fruits, and vegetables grown with love and without chemicals. No chemical pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers, are used, not even the ones that are approved for organic use. Instead, Ecosystem Farm works to foster a healthy, diverse ecosystem.
Would you like to get fruits, vegetables, herbs, and eggs from your own neighborhood farm? 45 spots are available in the Weekly Harvest program, and we’d love to nourish your family. Share options range from getting the majority of your calories from the farm to picking up the ingredients for a great omelet each week. Check out http://bit.ly/GetYourFood or go to the website www.ecosystemfarm.com for more info.
And while you’re at it, check out some of the other ‘growings on’ around the farm. The community orchard is off to a great start with nine trees planted. Yoga on the farm will restart in April. There are lots of reasons to stop by your neighborhood farm this spring.
Ecosytem Farm is located just down the street from East Atlanta Village at 1088 Bouldercrest Drive. You can also stop by during posted open hours or call 404-919-4422
