Treasurer: Report—the GPNA is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible..
Public Safety Committee Chair, Chris Newman: Zone 6 APD update: Reported crimes are significantly lower now than last year. Memorial Drive corridor still experiencing vehicle break-ins. The Trestletree incident on 3/20 was not a shooting, but an altercation and head injury. Zone 6 Community Prosecutor: Keith Lamar, keith.lamar@fultoncountyga.gov, 404 612-7012. Neighborhood Watch Update: Memorial Drive corridor still experiencing vehicle break-ins but down significantly. No crimes against persons in Grant Park. Vehicle break-ins, bicycle and lawnmower theft. NPU-W meets on Wednesday nights. March meeting to cover liquor license for the George.
Economic Development, Stephen Powner: Sunbursts are $75 and available online, $50 at the GPNA meetings. Grant Park Gathering TBD.
Homes and History, Paul Simo: Historic Design Regulation Rewrite Update. Tip of the Month: do not pressure wash your house, only use soft bristle brushes. Land Use and Zoning, Rick Hudson: Atlanta Streets Alive: Sunday, April 23 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. The city is considering approving tiny houses to be built on R5 lots. Contact Carla Smith’s office for more information.
Open Floor Discussion: Grant Park Farmers Market is now open from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Give Children the World (501c3) is seeking donations of old desktop computers. Smiles 4 Grant Park, a new dental office, is opening in the Leonard in June or July of 2017.
