GPNA Meeting Minutes

Welcomed everyone, explained the agenda and open floor rules, and voting eligibility
Thank you to Zoo Atlanta for allowing the use of the building for the meeting
Next meeting is Tuesday, August, 19, 2014 at 7:30pm
New member welcome and introductions
Rob Bernier welcomed Christine Dore of Peachtree Dog Training, the featured business of the month
Welcomed Mary Woodlan and David Moore, who spoke about and answered questions about upcoming Oakland Cemetery’s Sunday in the Park and Halloween Tours events.
Motion of support for events passed unanimously

City Council passed budget with no tax increase
East Side TAD (Tax Allocation District) was saved
Turner Field Task Force Meeting on July 23, 6:30 pm, City Hall

Most crime is larceny – keep cars clean to reduce
Conceal vehicle registration. Registration cards are being stolen. You no longer need them if pulled over, so you don’t have to keep them in car.
Be careful about Craigslist. Ask Craigslist sellers to meet you at a police precinct as an extra precaution.
Bicycles must follow same traffic laws as cars. They cannot ride on sidewalk or run stop signs. Some neighbors have received tickets for not following bicycle traffic laws.
