Last year, the Grant Park Conservancy surveyed neighbors and visitors to capture the perspectives of the community regarding programming and activities in the park. One message came through loud and clear: there’s strong community interest in events that foster connection and activate the park.
We have been hard at work this winter to turn that feedback into action, and we’re excited to announce the launch of Market in the Park, a new community-centered program designed to bring people together to enjoy the natural beauty of Grant Park.
Running from April through December, with seasonal themes, Market in the Park will create opportunities for neighbors and visitors to gather, celebrate local talent, shop, learn, enjoy good food, and relax in Atlanta’s oldest park.
Organized and run by the Grant Park Conservancy, the program will feature artisan and vintage goods, live music, food vendors, prepared bites from local chefs, farm-fresh produce, kids’ activities, and engaging educational programming.
We’re kicking off the series this spring with three special themed markets designed to celebrate the season and our community. Our first gathering on April 19 will be an Earth Day-themed celebration featuring sustainable, eco-friendly, mission-driven vendors, along with food vendors serving up delicious bites made with care. Later in the season, we’ll celebrate the park’s birthday on May 17, and kick off summer with a vibrant gathering on June 14.
So, mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy the People’s Playground. We can’t wait to see you at Market in the Park!
