Intown Salt Room, the only stand-alone facility to offer two different experiences, dry salt therapy (halotherapy) and meditation with sound therapy, inside Atlanta’s 285 perimeter, has opened in Grant Park. Intown Salt Room, a technological and modern 1,000-square-foot space with 6,000 pounds of Himalayan salt incorporated in the decor, is owned and operated by Grant Park resident Carrie Wright who looks forward to bringing this calming experience with effective wellness benefits for men and women inside the perimeter.  Dry salt therapy helps to alleviate stress, anxiety and fatigue, reduces snoring and sleeping problems, helps with overall skin health and skin conditions including psoriasis, eczema, and acne and helps improve allergies, asthma, and sinus infections.
Salt therapy works because sodium chloride (NaCl) has super absorbent, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. A halogenerator grinds pure pharmaceutical grade salt and “mists” it into a closed environment to breathe in pure salty air, naturally loosen dust, allergens and respiratory system toxins, and improve the skin’s function and appearance. Salt therapy can boost the overall immune system, benefits adults and children, and is natural and safe with no harmful side effects.
“As a result of seeking a healthy way to relax and help manage stress, I discovered salt rooms,” Wright said. “Personally, even though I lived a healthy lifestyle, exercised and tried to balance work and life, I needed a place where I could go sit and just breathe. Then I found myself enjoying all these other amazing and natural health benefits that came with dry salt therapy.”
Atlanta’s Intown Salt Room features a state-of-the-art industry halogenerator that disperses a precise dry salt aerosol into the salt room. The room accommodates two people, who sit in zero gravity sling chairs in loose Himalayan salt, relax and breathe. With deep breaths, the dry salt helps to open and expand airways and allows more oxygen in for a deeper breath. The room temperature ranges from a comfortable 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit and people are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes for the relaxing treatment – no special spa attire is required.
Men and women alike also enjoy Intown Salt Room’s meditation room with sound therapy. The meditation room is equipped with two state-of-the art, zero gravity Wave Loungers from So Sound Solutions with proprietary Acoustic Resonance Technology™ that allows sound to resonate through the body while it’s simultaneously piped in via in-room speakers and headphones. This immersive, calming meditation also features a Himalayan salt tower releasing negative ions to help balance your body that is 100 times more powerful than a regular salt lamp.
Intown Salt Room, a member of the Salt Therapy Association, is the only stand-alone facility to offer two different experiences, dry salt therapy (halotherapy) and meditation with sound therapy inside Atlanta’s I-285 Perimeter. Located at 563 Memorial Drive, sessions for both rooms are available in 30-minute increments and each room accommodates two people. Intown Salt Room suggests avoiding perfumes, cremes or lotions and electronic devices are not permitted for the ultimate relaxation and unplugging experience.  Guests may use free, secure lockers to store personal items upon arrival.
