Art-Haus gallery in Grant Park held an opening reception on Friday, June 28 for its current exhibition, “Vine & Vineyard” by Leah Dalton. The event featured southern-influenced refreshments in keeping with the conversation on being in the South that is carried throughout Dalton’s work. According to her artist’s statement, “Coming from a background in fashion design, textile weaving, and a love for painting, I have a passion for volunteering and participating in programs that offer art enrichment and educational enrichment to local and global communities. My aesthetic and style are inspired by vibrant colors, abstract figurative elements, native American heritage and influences from Mexico. I love museums, art galleries, and organizations in the art and education fields. I am happy to have had the honor of participating with so many amazing programs. My work has been in group and solo shows at local galleries and museums such as 112 Gallery, Non-Fiction Gallery, SCAD Gala and Art Auction, and has been donated to SCAD archives in Atlanta. I love being a part of my community; whether it is through my passion for art or my passion for working with others, it has always been and will remain an important part of my creative process as well as my social responsibility within my career path to pursue that sense of community enrichment.”
