On Saturday October 29, East Atlanta celebrated Halloween with the beloved EAV-O-Ween event in the Village. As popular as ever, it attracted families and friends, of both the human and animal variety, dressed up in their creepiest, spookiest garb for trick-or-treating at participating businesses along Flat Shoals and Glenwood Avenue.
This year was particularly noteworthy, with all three active community groups coming together to plan and organize the event. Thanks to East Atlanta Business Association, East Atlanta Parents Network, and East Atlanta Community Association, the EAV-O-Ween line-up included a Community Costume Closet and the popular Costume Contest before the children were let loose to fill up their candy bags provided by Keller Knapp Realty.
The Costume Closet provided costumes for many families, neighbors, and community members at no cost. Kids from the neighborhood and the East Atlanta Kids Club shopped at the pop-up costume shop located at the East Atlanta Farmers Market. A special thanks to the many neighbors that donated gently used costumes to make this a remarkably successful Village initiative.
Safe to say that fun, and lots of sugar, was had by all at EAV-O-Ween 2022!
