Voted the Reader’s Pick for the Best Outdoor Farmers Market in Atlanta’s Creative Loafing Magazine five years in a row, the East Atlanta Village Farmers Market (EAVFM) is one of oldest Atlanta farmers markets. This season will kick off on Thursday, April 11with the return of many of your favorite EAV farmers alongside some vendors new to the farmers market. 2019 marks East Atlanta’s 14th year serving up local food from Georgia growers and food artisans in East Atlanta.
Providing local and seasonal produce since 2006, the EAV Farmers Market has been a long-time champion of the food movement in Atlanta. EAVFM was the first farmers market in Georgia to accepted SNAP/EBT, and the first market in Georgia to match SNAP/EBT dollars. The East Atlanta Farmers Market is grateful to be part of a community that cares so much about increasing access to fresh, local produce and foods, and are also grateful for the support that the East Atlanta Village neighborhood continues to show.
There will be food, drinks, music, and of course, all the best locally grown produce and locally made food products that you would want. There is ample seating and places to relax at market, with an on-site Edible Learning Garden that offers garden education and children’s activities. Opening day of Farmer’s Market in East Atlanta has always been a special day for the Village neighborhood where the community can gather to celebrate local food, so we hope to see everyone there.
The EAVFM opens every Thursday, rain or shine, through November 21, 2019 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at 572 Stokeswood Avenue in the heart of East Atlanta Village.
