December 14 marks the close of a very successful 2017 farmers market season in East Atlanta. However, local farmers continue to produce fresh food throughout the winter. You will still be able to find sustainably grown vegetables like carrots, winter greens, sweet potatoes, dairy, meats, eggs, and fresh baked local breads into the winter, until the next opening of the EAV Farmer’s Market (EAVFM) in April.
The Farmers Market is extremely grateful for the continued support of the East Atlanta Village community this year. In 2017, over 15,000 shoppers attended the market, and $10,000 EBT dollars were doubled, making local, sustainable food more accessible to everyone in the community, regardless of economic circumstances. The East Atlanta Farmers Market is proud to be a part of a wonderful neighborhood that support local farmers and make our food system fairer for all.
Come visit the EAV Farmer’s Market throughout November and December for a strong close to the season. And don’t forget to join us for one of the most popular events of the year, the Giving Thanks Potluck dinner on November 16. The market closes early that night at 6:00pm so that everyone can come together and celebrate the bounty of the year and give thanks to wonderful farmers, vendors, customers, and community members who make the market possible.  This event is free for all.
The EAVFM is held Every Thursday throughout the long growing season, at 572 Stokeswood Avenue in East Atlanta. Hours are 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
