By Alice Bliss
Alice Bliss, a native of Atlanta, will read from her newly published novel, Period of Adjustment, Saturday, May 16, at 7:00pm at the East Atlanta Library, 400 Flat Shoals Avenue.
Alice Bliss graduated from Fulton High School at the age of 15 and from the University of Georgia at the age of 18. In the 1950s, she worked her way around the world, spending 13 months in New Zealand, five months in Australia, and a year engaged in music study in Vienna. She taught in the Kentucky mountains and also at Northern Illinois University. Since 1964, she has lived in Atlanta, working part time in order to write full time.
Period of Adjustment centers on three couples. In the course of the book, one couple marries; one becomes engaged; while, in the case of the third, the woman simply moves in with the man, a daring thing to do in the Atlanta of 1934.
Books may be ordered in advance from The Bozart Press, 297 Gordon Avenue NE, Atlanta 30307.
