Sushi Burritos and Poke Bowls hit East Atlanta Village, in a big way at Sushi Burri in the We Suki Suki food court and collective. All the big cities have them, and, now, so does Atlanta, right here in EAV. Manned by Seven Chan and Ken Yu, the two have taken the village by storm. Sushi Burri has sold out almost every night since they opened. Their food is a twist on sushi, combining familiar flavors with the feeling of comfort food.
When choosing the location, the pair looked at several Atlanta neighborhoods, but as soon as they came to East Atlanta, they found the community and vibe they were looking for. “Everyone in the community has been very receptive, both local businesses and local organizations. We love that it’s a small, but tight knit place where everyone supports each other. The first day we came to look at the spot we visited all the local businesses on Flat Shoals. Surprisingly, everyone was kind, encouraging, and excited for us.” Not so surprising in EAV!
While open just a few weeks, they have already been featured in some amazing publications, blogs and newspapers, including Eater, Atlanta Magazine, ATL Bucketlist, and more. As a result, they have had hundreds of people come visit the shop and see the neighborhood telling them, they had no idea a place like this existed in Atlanta. People have come to see the area and have called it eclectic, charming and a part of town with culture unlike anywhere else. The partners also consider themselves to be more than just a storefront, but a business that can show the rest of Atlanta how great East Atlanta is.
Sushi Burri is located at 479 Flat Shoals Avenue in East Atlanta, at the We Suki Suki Global Grub Collective. It is open Tuesday-Saturday, 11:30am to 9:30pm. Come check out your new neighbors for a truly different taste experience.
