EAKC’s Teen Club to Host Short Film Premiere at The Plaza Theatre

By Ryan Downey, East Atlanta Kids Club

In partnership with AppleBox Productions and a host of talented film partners, East Atlanta Kid’s Club (EAKC) Teen Club members will host a film premiere and panel on Friday, April 12.  They are hoping to pack Atlanta’s oldest cinema, The Plaza Theatre, with tickets on sale now at the link below. Program partners and teens have worked hard all year to produce this short film, and community support is welcome.

Over the course of eight weeks, Teen Club members have engaged in experiential, hands-on learning, including production, design, and props, acting and script breakdown, camera and framing, lighting, and grip, as well as three weeks of filming. This program has been delivered in-kind to EAKC, at a value approaching $100,000, through the following amazing partners:  AppleBox Productions, Drama Inc., Cinder Lighting & Grip, Magnolia Arthouse, Central Atlanta Props & Sets, Neil Dearman Camera, Trevor May, and The Plaza Theatre.

With the power of film, Teen Club aims to ignite a passion for storytelling, collaboration, and self-expression, helping kids grow into confident and compassionate individuals ready to make their mark on the world. Please join EAKC as they celebrate the Teen Club members and amazing partners.

Sponsorship opportunities are available, and inquiries are welcome at rdowney@eastatlantakids.org or 404-627-8050. Tickets and additional information available now at eastatlantakids.org/filmcamp.
