Drink Whiskey, Help Your Neighbors

By Carlen Ruth Hultgren

Neighbor in Need is partnering with ASW Distillery for the first Whiskey Giveback event. Get into the ‘spirit’ of charity and sample some fine Atlanta whiskeys at ASW Distillery while supporting low-income neighbors in East Atlanta Village.

The distillery, located at 100 Armour Drive NE, will open its tasting room April 18 from 4:30pm to 8:00pm for the event. A percentage of all alcohol and ASW product sales will be donated to Neighbor in Need East Atlanta.

Drink tokens will be available onsite and prices are as follows: one token for $5; three tokens for $12; and five tokens for $18 (straight pours cost one token; cocktails cost two tokens).

Bottles, shirts, glasses, and barware will also be available for purchase, with a percentage of those sales going to Neighbor in Need.  A tour of the production facility, including ASW’s Scottish-style twin copper pot stills and barrelhouse, will be available.

ASW Distillery is a manufacturer of distilled spirits and the second legally licensed distillery in Atlanta since the end of American Prohibition, and has distilled the first single malt whiskey in Atlanta history.

(Neighbor in Need East Atlanta, founded in 2010, is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) and function under the umbrella of the East Atlanta Community Association (EACA).
