Don’t Miss the Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes

By Rebecca Wallace

It’s time to plan to attend the 40th Annual Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes December 10 and 11. Back after a two-year pandemic break, the tour will feature one or two homes returning from previous years, but also some homes new to the tour that have been recently renovated. In fact, you may have noticed interesting work on Grant Street between the corners of Little Street and Grant Park Place. The corner store of Grant Park past is undergoing renovations to create a single-family living space on the top floor and an event space on the first floor. The owners first renovated the home beside the store where they currently live and brightened up the lovely courtyard in between. You won’t want to miss the chance to see this unique transformation in progress!

“We’ve been waiting since 2020 to celebrate the Candlelight Tour’s 40th anniversary,” said St. Paul UMC Pastor Cassie Rapko. “We’re so excited to bring this special event back to the neighborhood, especially since we have so many new neighbors who likely have never experienced it!”

Be sure to save some of your holiday gift giving budget for the Artists Market which will return to the beautiful sanctuary of St. Paul UMC where you can find a number of gifts from a variety of vendors, including tasty ones from Georgia Jams, LLC. Georgia Jams has a full line of low-sugar spreads, crafted from locally grown fruit. The company has received recognition for their products in recent years, including the Garden and Gun Magazine Made In the South Award for their Habanero Peach Spread and a Good Food Award for their Lemon Ginger Spread.
