Dance 411 Keeps Kids Active This Summer

By Jean Hallman
It is a dance packed summer over at Kids Dance 411 as students participate in performance company auditions, weekly camps, an open house carnival, and more. If your kids are tired of sitting around there is plenty to get them moving at Dance 411.
Next month, Dance 411’s Performance Company is searching for rising stars ages 5 to 18. This dance company and competition team has won numerous awards and has performed at events hosted by the White House, Univsion, and Microsoft. The group has also performed in music videos, award shows and concerts, including the KidzBop National Tour. Auditions are Sunday, August 7 and are open to any child or young adult eager to learn from professional level choreographers currently in the industry. Ticket and event information is available on the website.
A weekly dance and acting camp at Kids Dance 411 is now in full swing. “Our summer camps are packed full of exciting dance opportunities from many genres including Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theater, and Tumbling,” said Kids Dance 411 director J.J. Crampton. Campers are immersed in many styles of dance as well as acting and writing. Camps run through August 5, Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm. Campers can be dropped off as early as 8:00am and extended care is available until 6:00pm. You can learn more about the summer camp and register at www.KidsDance411.com.
On August 6, Kids Dance 411’s Progressive Program will host a back to school open house carnival at the studio. “This family fun event boasts free dance experiences for our local kids and interested parents,” said Justin Draper, Dance 411’s Director of Marketing and Client Services. This event is free to the community and will include indoor entertainment, festival food, and local vendors.
