Concert of Spirituals Offered

February is Black History Month. In honor of Black History Month St. Phillip A.M.E. Church presents a concert of traditional Negro Spirituals. Besides their own Choir #1, other choirs will be guest singers at this event: the Voices of Inspiration from Berean Seventh-Day Adventist Church, the Big Bethel Chorale from Big Bethel A.M.E. Church, the Chancel Choir from East Point First Mallalieu United Methodist Church, the Church Choir from Ebenezer Baptist Church, the Anthem Choir from Maranatha Seventh-Day Adventist Church, the Sanctuary Choir from Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, and Choir #1 from Allen Temple A.M.E. Church. The concert is free to the public; donations will be accepted.
The St. Phillip A.M.E. Church is just a short distance from East Atlanta. It is located at 240 Candler Road at the intersection with Memorial Drive. From East Atlanta take Glenwood Avenue east to Candler Road, turn left and go one half mile north to Memorial Drive. The church is on the southeast corner of the intersection. From north of I-20, take Memorial Drive east to Candler Road.
