Calling Lovers of Tire Juice and Clean Neighborhoods

By Michelle Rice
This year’s tire roundup will be Saturday, April 21. We need pickup trucks with drivers and volunteers to drag tires out of vacant lots and heave them into the trucks. We’ll meet at 8:00am at Armor Tire (1326 Glenwood, the corner of Glenwood and Haas) and work until 1:00pm, when Councilwoman Archibong shuts down the collection point. If you are able to volunteer, please send an email to mailto: eavtires@gmail.com.
Those who can’t volunteer can lend a hand in a much less physical way: When you are out and about in East Atlanta, take note of any tires you see dumped in vacant lots, on the curb, leaning against houses, etc. Jot down the location (with a street address for the nearest house) and email it to this address so we can add that location to our list.
Here’s to making the rubber meet the road to recycling.
