SAND (South Atlantans for Neighborhood Development): 2nd Thursday of the month, 7:30pm. Ormewood Church Fellowship Hall, corner of Woodland & Delaware Avenues.

Special Events

19th Annual Brownwood Bike Rally. The Brownwood Bike Rally returns to the East Atlanta Kids Club on Saturday, September 16, 9:00am-2:00pm, Brownwood Park, 602 Brownwood Avenue in East Atlanta. Kids race for FREE. Come help the East Atlanta Kids Club and the celebrate its 19 of the Brownwood Bike Rally and 25 years of giving back to the community. Sponsor, Volunteer, or participate. East Atlanta Strut. Come help the Strut celebrate its 25 years of giving back to the community, starting with the reintroduction of the Strut parade in East Atlanta Village and the neighborhood. Sponsor, volunteer, or participate. All information can be found at www.eastatlantastrut.com. Friday, September 22: The Strut Roll – Head on to the Village to  get the party started on Friday night, and check out all the classic cars on display, warming up for the parade. Saturday, September 23:  8:30am – The EAV 5K is back. 11:00am – The PARADE IS BACK! 12:00pm-6:00pm – Spread out and enjoy the FUN.

September 14   Fall Plant 2 Plate Sale. It’s our 3rd annual, as always in partnership with Love is Love Farm and Wholesome Wave Georgia. 

September 21   13th Annual Okra Day, a fan-favorite, family-friendly free event in which  all things Okra are celebrated. Live music, fried okra demo and samples by market chef Taylor Mead, plus okra food vendor specials, kids’ activities, including okra slim and prizes. Take home your own dried okra pod to save seeds to plant next year.

October 12      Pepper Palooza at EAV Farmers Market This event is a new event and still in the works but will be in partnership with A Sip of Paradise Garden. Look forward to special spicy cocktails, mocktails and snacks made with peppers.

October 26      EAV-O-Ween at EAV Farmers Market. Kick off your Halloweekend festivities at EAV Farmers Market. Free costume closet, photo booth, shadow puppets, turnip jack-o-lantern carving, spooooky vendor specials and more. Pumpkin Patch pending…Costumes are encouraged every Thursday, but especially this one

November 16   Mark your calendars for the annual Giving Thanks Potluck. A lovely community gathering with food and drinks and joy and music and warmth on the last official EAV Farmers Market of the year

Ongoing Events

East Atlanta Business Association (EABA) General Meeting. 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6:00pm-8:00pm, includes socializing, snacks, the meeting, and ½ hour set aside for networking. Check out www.Eastatlantabiz.com for meeting location and to find out more.

East Atlanta Chess Club. Meetings every Wednesday at Branan Towers, 1200 Glenwood AvenueWeekly rated tournament 6:00pm-10:00pm, and free play for those players who want to play casually. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

EAV Farmers Market572 Stokeswood Avenue, Thursdays 4:00pm-8:00pm. Local farmers and vendors bring their wares every Thursday afternoon. Shop, eat, socialize. 

Grant & Little Sunday Shoppe. Weekly artist pop-up market and coffee, beginning Sunday, June 11. 787 Grant Street, 10:00am-2:00pm. See https://www.grantandlittle.com/events for more. 

Grant Park Farmers Market. 1040 Grant Street (The Beacon). Sundays, 9:00am-1:00pm, year round (closed between Christmas and New Year’s Day). 

Grant Park Conservancy, Project G.R.A.N.T. (Greenspace Restoration and Neighborhood Teamwork). Second Saturday of every month. Choose from the morning session, 9:00am-12:00pm, or the 1:30pm-4:30pm afternoon session. To sign up, see www.gpconservancy.org/events-programs/volunteer-work-days.
