February 20, 12-4 pm, 479 Flat Shoals Avenue.  Qommunity, new art and food emporium hosts “Dim Sum and then some” Drag Brunch. There will be 2 seatings, at 12 and 2pm.

March 3-5, Maynard Jackson High School  Drama department presents: Hairspray, with both matinee and evening performances on March 5.  Ticket information will be posted on: https://mjhsarts.org/ or on Facebook  @MJHSArtsBoosters.

March 11,  Grant Park Conservancy Canopy Soirée, 8-11:00 pm, Savanna Hall at Zoo Atlanta

Join the Grant Park Conservancy to celebrate all things Grant Park in Zoo Atlanta’s Michael and Thalia Carlos Ballroom. Funds raised at this year’s Canopy Soirée will be used to plant over 100 new trees in the next year, support Gazebo-rebuilding enhancements, tackle crumbling stonework on the Milledge Fountain wall, and bring the Summer Shade Festival back to Grant Park in 2022.

March 21, Music Together® Spring sessions start. Playful, rich, and engaging, Music Together® helps children of all ages, from babies to big kids, discover their inner music-maker by playing with the grownups they love. Music Together’s 8-Week Spring Session starts March 21st. Space is limited.

March 31, East Atlanta Village Farmers Market Opening Day 2022

Opening day festivities planned, including music and an inaugural fruit tree planting (last year’s was a pineapple guava) and more! 

East Atlanta Library Events:

Every Wednesday, 10:30 am, Family Storytime. Join us for songs and stories. For children and their caregivers.

February 14-19, Heart Garland Take Home Kit. Come by the library during this week to pick up a take home garland kit to keep or give to your valentine. While supplies last.

February 17, 4:30 pm, Lego Club. Use your imagination to build something fantastic! We have larger Duplo blocks for smaller hands too. For children and their caregivers.

February 22-26, Alma Thomas Take Home Kit. Come by the library during this week to pick up a take home torn paper collage kit to create art like Georgia artist Alma Thomas.


February 23, 4:30 pm Paper Chain STEM Activity. Challenge yourself to build the longest paper chain using a single sheet of paper. For children and their caregiver

Grant Park Conservancy, Project G.R.A.N.T. (Greenspace Restoration and Neighborhood Teamwork): Second Saturday of every month. Choose from the morning session, 9am-12pm, or the 1:30pm-4:30pm afternoon session. To sign up, see www.gpconservancy.org/events-programs/volunteer-work-days/.

Brownwood Park Volunteer Workdays: first Saturday of every month, from 9am- noon. Please wear masks/observe social distancing. 607 Brownwood Ave SE. Park entrance is on Pendleton Street (across from the tennis courts). Our projects include removal of exotic invasive plants and replanting of native species. The effort is a joint partnership between EACA and Trees Atlanta to take care of Brownwood Park. Plant Care Beltline Arboretum, Eastside Trail. Mondays, 8 am to 11 am. Come help care for the Beltline flora by weeding, mulching, and watering – sign up at treesatlanta.org

Walking Tour: History and Change on the Beltline, Eastside Trail. 2nd Saturday of the month, 9 am to 10:30 am, meet at picnic tables behind Parish restaurant and end at Ponce City Market. Sign up at treesatlanta.org

Atlanta Beltline Run Club Weekly Meetup, 6:15-8 pm. Meets every Thursday, rotating between locations on Eastside, Westside, Southside and Northeast Interim Trails for a 2-4 mile run. Runners, walkers, and pets are welcome. Free/no registration needed. See beltline.org for more info
