Calendar events take place in southeast Atlanta. The area is south of I-20 to Moreland Drive and includes Grant Park, Ormewood Park and East Atlanta. The next deadline for the calendar will be June 25, 2017. Email events to calendar@theporchpress.com with
 
Weekly Activities
The following activities take place every week as listed.
CHILDREN/STORY TIME
Tiny Tots Storytime. East Atlanta Library, 400 Flat Shoals Avenue SE, for newborns to 5years, 10:30am (every Tue).
Cub Scout Pack 688. Park Avenue Baptist Church, 524 Park Avenue SE at the corner of Sydney Street. Contact David Griffin, 678-849-8619, or email griffin.david@yahoo.com.
Art Attack. Art classes for children ages 2-10, Hodgepodge Coffee house, 720 Moreland Avenue SE, $8 11:00am-12:00pm (every Mon).
Summer Film Series. East Atlanta Library, 400 Flat Shoals Ave SE, 12:30-2:30pm, (Thurs).
Summer Food Service Program. East Atlanta Library, 400 Flat shoals Ave SE, through Jul27, 12-1pm, (Thurs).
 
SENIOR ACTIVITIES
Golden Age Center. St Paul United Methodist Church, 501 Grant Street SE, Rm R2. All senior citizens welcome 10:00am-2:00pm (Tues and Thurs).
 
OTHER GROUPS
East Atlanta Farmers Market. 561 Flat Shoals Avenue SE, chef demonstrations on site, 4:00pm-8:00pm (every Thurs).
Grant Park Farmers Market. Cherokee Avenue SE at Milledge Avenue SE, 9:30am-1:30pm (every Sun).
Friendship Center. Church of the Holy Comforter, 737 Woodland Avenue SE, 9:00am-1:00pm (Tues and Thurs).
Little Five Artist Alive. Street artists and performers. Little Five Points, Moreland Ave & Euclid Ave NE, every Saturday and Sunday until November 5, 5pm-8pm.
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
-Georgia Avenue Church, 645 Grant Street SE, basement, 8:00pm-9:00pm (Thurs and Sat).
-Eastside Church, 468 Moreland Avenue SE (corner of Metropolitan Avenue SE) Street parking and also lot east of Long John Silver’s, basement fellowship hall, 7:00pm (every Mon); women’s meeting, basement East Atlanta Room, 7:00pm (every Wed); basement East Atlanta Room, 7:00pm (every Thurs); basement fellowship hall, 8:00pm (every Sat).

Jun 17              Civil War to Civil Rights Walking Tour. Meeting place in East Atlanta Village to be announced, required advance tickets available on www.batlevent.org; event starts at 2pm.
                        Read to Therapy Dog Dudley. Dudley will listen to children read, East Atlanta Library, 400 Flat Shoals Ave SE, 11am-12pm.
Jun 18              Father’s Day.
Father’s Day at the Zoo. Zoo Atlanta, 800 Cherokee Ave SE, Dads free with paid admission for second person.
Jun 20              Grant Park Neighborhood Association (GPNA). Zoo Atlanta, 800 Cherokee Avenue SE, ARC Building, south end of Cherokee Avenue parking lot. Everyone in Grant Park welcome. 7:30pm (3rd Tues).
