Dancy Kids at Metropolitan Studios. 1259 Metropolitan Avenue. Starting July 15, runs for two weeks Drop-in classes include Twirl with Your Tot, Ballet Basics, and Jazz and Theatre Dance. The Dancy Kids Dance Camps run for two weeks for ages 3-10. Metropolitan Studios welcomes kids of all abilities and backgrounds. For more information go to www.metrostudioseav.com/classes.

The Candybox Revue’s 1259 Burlesque: A Celebration of Atlanta Burlesque’s Evolution. 1259 Metropolitan Avenue. July 19, 8:00pm doors open, 9:00pm show. Ages 18+. Tickets: $25-$30. 404-219-2003. Guests are sure to enjoy the craft cocktails on offer and the sheer magic of the venue: an 110+ year old house dedicated to the art of the tease and delightfully decorated in a Neo-classic burlesque theme.

National Chicken Wing Day Day. Urban Wings, 489 Moreland Avenue. Monday, July 29, 2:00pm-5:00pm. July 29 is National Chicken Wing Day, and Urban Wings is gearing up to celebrate with their 1st Annual Chicken Wing Eating Competition. Atlanta wing enthusiasts are invited to gather at the East Atlanta location to indulge in delicious wings, celebrate with friends, and compete for the chance to win $300.

EAPN Wet and Wild at Brownwood Park. 602 Brownwood Avenue. August 25, 3:00pm-5:00pm. Let’s make a splash with water play! There will be water blasters, water balloons, water sensory tables, sprinklers, and small kiddie pools. We’ll be passing out free Kona Ice to keep cool and Red’s will be selling delicious hot dogs!

East Atlanta Strut. East Atlanta Village, Saturday September 28, 11:00am-6:00pm. Join your neighbors and friends for 26th annual East Atlanta Strut. The morning starts with a 5K, and the parade starts the festival at 11:00am.  Music, games, food, drink, and fun for the whole family will be spread around the Village. EAV Farmers Market. 572 Stokeswood Avenue. Every Thursday 4:00pm-8:00pm. Local farmers and vendors bring their wares every Thursday afternoon.  Shop, eat, socialize.

EABA-East Atlanta Business Association. General Meetings on the third Tuesday of the month. NO MEETING IN JULY. 6:00pm-8:00pm includes socializing, snacks, the meeting, and ½ hour set aside for networking. Check out Eastatlantabiz.com for the meeting location and to find out more.

East Atlanta Chess Club. Meetings every Wednesday. Branan Towers, 1200 Glenwood Avenue. Weekly rated tournament from 6:00pm-10:00pm, and free play for those players who want to play casually. All ages and skills levels are welcome. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
