Christmas Tree Lighting. Saturday, December 7, 5:30pm-6:30pm. Corner of Flat Shoals & Glenwood Avenues. Join us for our annual Christmas Tree Lighting in the Village. Music, snacks, and cheerfulness starts at 5:30pm with a visit by Santa soon thereafter and the lighting of the tree at 6:00pm.

EAPN Holiday Hootenanny. Friday, December 8, 3:00pm-5:00pm. Brownwood Rec Center, 602 Brownwood Avenue. Our first ever multicultural holiday event will feature Santa photos. We will have crafts and activities celebrating Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanza. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for our toy drive.

EACA Holiday Meeting and Potluck. Tuesday, December 10, 7:00pm. Brownwood Park Rec Center, 602 Brownwood Avenue. Keeping with tradition, the December EACA meeting will be an abbreviated meeting followed by an informal holiday social. Please bring a dip, treat or sweet to share and we will provide drinks.

EABA Holiday Party. Thursday, December 12, 6:00pm-10:00pm. Join us for EABA’s 2024 Holiday Party as we celebrate our business members, board members and the EAV community while also fundraising for EABA’s Main Street initiatives. Details are still being worked out, but make sure to pencil in the date and check back for registration opening soon!

East Atlanta Kids Club 4th Annual Present-Palooza. Brownwood Rec Center, 602 Brownwood Avenue. Wednesday and Thursday, December 18-19, for the youth of EAKC. Friday, December 20, open to the community. East Atlanta Kids Club youth and their families are invited to shop at the holiday store put on by the EAKC. Volunteer elves help with shopping and gift wrapping. On the last day, the community is invited to join the shopping spree. This is a free event for EAKC kids and their families.

Hanukkah Menorah Lighting. Wednesday, December 25-Wednesday, January 1, 6:00pm nightly. Corner of Flat Shoals & Glenwood Avenues. Join us each evening of Hanukkah for the menorah lighting in the Village. The menorah will be lit around 6:00pm each evening. Plans for a get-together are in the works. We’re looking for individuals, friends, and families to lead the prayers and blessings each night. Reach out to EACA to volunteer.

Battle of Atlanta New Year’s Walking Tour. Wednesday, January 1, 2:00pm-4:00pm. Cost: $15 per person. Tours are easy walking and take about an hour and 45 minutes. For more information or to reserve your spot, call Henry Bryant at 404-377-6148 or email at hbryantiii@comcast.net.

Grant Park Farmers Market. 1040 Grant Street (The Beacon). Sundays, 9:00am-1:00pm, year-round 

Grant Park Conservancy, Project G.R.A.N.T. (Greenspace Restoration and Neighborhood Teamwork). Second Saturday of every month. Choose from the morning session, 9:00am-12:00pm, or the 1:30pm-4:30pm afternoon session. To sign up, see www.gpconservancy.org.  

EAST ATLANTA

East Atlanta Business Association (EABA) General Meeting. 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6:00pm-8:00pm, includes socializing, snacks, the meeting, and 1⁄2 hour set aside for networking. Check out: www.Eastatlantabiz.com for meeting location and to find out more.

EABA Board Meeting. 1st Tuesday of every month, 6:00pm. East Atlanta Chess Club. Meetings every Wednesday at Branan Towers, 1200 Glenwood Avenue. Weekly rated tournament 6:00pm-10:00pm, and free play for those players who want to play casually. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

EAV Farmers Market. 572 Stokeswood Avenue, 4:00pm-8:00pm. Local farmers and vendors bring their wares every Thursday afternoon. Shop, eat, socialize.  

East Atlanta Chess Club. Branan Towers, 1200 Glenwood Avenue.  Meetings every Wednesday. Weekly rated tournament from 6:00pm-10:00pm, and free play for those players who want to play casually. All ages and skills levels are welcome. Children under twelve must be accompanied by an adult.

History and Change on the BeltLine. Eastside Trail. 2nd Saturday of the month, 9:00am-10:30am. Meet at picnic tables behind Parish restaurant and end at Ponce City Market. Sign up at www.treesatlanta.org.

BATL Walking Tours – Civil War Battle of Atlanta. Various Sunday afternoons each month in the Porch Press neighborhoods. 3:00pm in March and 2:00pm the rest of the year. Three different easy walks in different parts of the Battlefield rotate each month. $15 tickets required in advance. Visit www.BATLevent.org for ticket reservation, dates times and meeting spots.
