Did you know that Burgess-Peterson Academy (BPA) is now the neighborhood school for all of East Atlanta Village and Reynoldstown? As part of the Atlanta Public Schools, BPA currently serves about 500 students in Pre-K through 5th grade. In addition to a enjoying a robust gardening program, BPA students participate in music, visual art, physical education, recess, and Spanish instruction. Extra-curricular activities include chorus, art club, steel drums, Junior Beta club, scouting, safety patrol, and more. BPA expects to be fully authorized as an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program World School within the next year. The students perform very well on state testing, with a 2017 CCRPI score of 82.6, putting the school at the top within the Jackson Cluster. It also makes BPA the 9th highest performing elementary school across the entire city. A very limited number of transfer seats K-5 are anticipated for the upcoming school year. If you have any questions about enrollment, or anything else school-related, please email Principal David White at dwhite@atlanta.k12.ga.us or call the school at 404-802-3400.
(David White has been the principal of Burgess-Peterson Academy since July 2015.)
