Big Thanks to Candlelight Tour Homeowners and Sponsors

By Rebecca Wallace

The 2023 Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes Committee has closed the books on another great event with 300 more tickets sold than 2022. Tour Chair Lisa Gwock reported that net proceeds surpassed last year’s record high by more than 10%. Of course, the tour couldn’t happen without our wonderful homeowners who opened up their eight magnificent homes to visitors and our generous sponsors: Floor & Decor, Williams Teusink, Six Feet Under, Round Here Renovations, Compass/Groundwork Realty, Fix and Flow, Mediterranea Restaurant, Mezcalito’s Restaurant, Parclife Homes, Intown Pediatrics, Your Pie, Little Tart Bakery, Kids Dental Studio, Café of Life, Talat Market, and Paisley Law.

The Committee is also grateful for in-kind sponsors Grant & Little who donated their space and Mercer Street Meals who provided delicious food for a reception for the homeowners.

Tour goers once again enjoyed visiting beautifully decorated homes by candlelight, an artists’ market, children’s activities, and a festive concert at St. Paul UMC. The church also hosted a “Share the Warmth” clothing drive and hundreds of visitors donated nearly 450 socks, hats, and gloves to Intown Cares and Central Outreach & Advocacy Center which both serve our unhoused neighbors.

Save the date for the 2024 Candlelight Tour of Homes, December 14 and 15, as this favorite neighborhood holiday tradition continues. St. Paul UMC organizes the event together with the help of the Grant Park Parent Network and the Grant Park Cooperative Preschool, the two other organizations who benefit from the proceeds.

Located at 501 Grant Street, St. Paul UMC offers weekly services on Sundays at 11:00am in person and streamed live on our Facebook page, @stpaulgrantpark. Please call the church at 404-688-7501 or visit www.StPaulGrantPark.org for more information.
