Council Member Jason Winston announced BeltLine paving plans at the last NPU W meeting. Invitations to bid on the contract covering Segment 4 and 5 went out in August and construction is expected to start in December or early January. These Segments cover the border between Grant Park and SAND neighborhoods—Glenwood to Boulevard. Beltline managers say they are “shovel ready.” The final real estate transactions and utility relocation are nearly complete. The contract includes the bridge over United which is expected to take 24 months.
Segments going further west may take a little longer to get to construction. Funding for this work is working its way through the federal procurement process. Senators Warnock and Ossoff were instrumental in getting federal infrastructure funds allocated to the project.
