American Girl Doll Author to Speak

By Nancy Leighton
Author Evelyn Coleman will give a talk and speak with girls about her newest book in the Addy mystery series, Shadows of Society Hill. Addy is the character for an African-American doll in the American Girl Doll collection. The program will take place at the Georgia Hill Library, 250 Georgia Avenue SE, on Wednesday, July 20 at 10:00am. This activity is designed for girls ages 9-12. Please call the library for reservations at 404-730-5427.
Besides the discussion and signing of Evelyn Colman’s new book, Addy will be available to see in a display case in the library. Addy will be in a dollhouse that represents the house where she lives in the books about her. The program and display are sponsored by the National Black Arts Festival in collaboration with the Auburn Avenue Research Library. The display will stay at the Georgia Hill Library for several weeks following the program so that anyone in the neighborhood will have a chance to see and enjoy it.
