Music Together of Decatur Comes to Brownwood Park

By Wendy Snell

Join Music Together of Decatur for singing, dancing, instrument-playing, and a whole lot of fun in Brownwood Park on Saturdays, starting in this month. Together of Decatur will offer two special class types in East Atlanta: one for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their grownups, and one for big kids, ages 4-8 years old.

The mixed-age music classes are for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grownups who love them, so grab whatever you have around your home to shake, tap, rattle, and drum. Bring a blanket for your family to sit on and to provide a clear visual boundary for social distancing while we sing, dance, and jam together, six feet apart.

The Pre-K to 2nd Grade Music Classes, Rhythm Kids students, ages 4-8 learn to compose, choreograph, and conduct as they play, (and play with!) djembes, other percussion instruments, and their first instruments, their voices, and bodies. When parents and caregivers choose to attend class, they not only enhance their children’s learning but also have a great time singing, moving, and drumming themselves.
