Grant Park Conservancy, Project G.R.A.N.T. (Greenspace Restoration and Neighborhood Teamwork): Second Saturday of every month (April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, etc.). Fitness Fridays with Camp Gladiator, 12:30pm-1:15pm, Fridays through the summer months, via ZOOM or via Atlanta Beltline Facebook Page, where the class will be live-streamed. Sessions are led by Certified Personal Trainers. Each “Camp” is a 45-minute, full-body workout incorporating both cardio and strength exercises. Check www.beltline.org for details

Georgia Green Landscape Stewards (UGA Extension Program) is offering live webinar presentations, on Wednesdays from 12:00pm-1:00pm through June 9 on a variety of topics, such as: composting, invasive plants, mulching, encouraging biodiversity, and welcoming pollinators. Brownwood Park Volunteer Workdays have started back up: first Saturday of every month, from 9:00am-12:00pm. Please wear masks/observe social distancing. 607 Brownwood Avenue. Park entrance is on Pendleton Street (across from the tennis courts). Our projects include removal of exotic invasive plants and replanting of native species. The effort is a joint partnership between EACA and Trees Atlanta to take care of Brownwood Park. This is a great volunteer opportunity for families and kids. The next Park Workday will be Saturday, June 5. East Atlanta Public Library is now open for in-person services on Tuesdays from 10:00am-7:00pm. and on Saturdays from 10:00am-6:00pm. Welcome back!

It’s time to start selectively hand pulling and digging out the non-native plants in the wooded area on the northeast slope of the property. Saturday, May 15 from 8:30am-12:00pm, EACA will hold our bi-monthly EACA Day of Service in partnership with Neighbor in Need East Atlanta. We’re excited to say we have filled all spots for this meaningful volunteer opportunity. If you are registered, please meet at the Brownwood Park Rec Center parking lot at 8:30am for coffee and donuts and head out from there. Saturday May 15, 11:00am. Ormewood Church is hosting a neighborhood parking lot parade. Walk, stroll, or bike your way down the Yellow Brick (Chalk) Road on Saturday, May 15. We’re looking for wacky costumes, decked out bikes, your cutest pets, and strollers of crazy kids. Each entry in the parade is $5. Local judges will be giving away sought-after awards like “Most Ormewood” or “Decked out Doggie.” We’ll also be raffling off three amazing baskets: Bike Ride Box, Doggie Dreams, and Family Treasures. Raffle tickets are $5/ticket or 5 for $20.
