Beautification

  • Red’s Farm Working Group
  • Georgia/Alabama Land Trust contacted & interested in helping with environmental easement – could eliminate developmental opportunity in perpetuity
  • Realtor brought in for valuation of the land on a commercial basis for informational purposes and easement value
  • Neighborhood fundraising efforts will be set up to help facilitate this endeavor and protect the property from development
  • City of Atlanta Tree Protection Ordinance
    • Public hearing on the ordinance to be held on April 27 at 1:30pm. Conference bridge available upon request. 
    • 3 ordinances included in the discussion and can be downloaded for review ahead of time.

Communication

  • Porch Press Board of Directors nomination – Melanie Regnier to become new Board member. Melanie is SAND nominee (no opposition). Motion to approve Melanie Regnier as SAND nominee Board Member passes.

Treasurer

  • Amazon Smile / Kroger Rewards
  • Trolleys available for $45 unpainted and $60 painted

Education/Schools

  • Pre-K school programs going on now – share and find more information on SAND webpage
  • Forming a committee for Education – members encouraged to participate

Social

  • No report/update

Public Safety

  • Pollo Supreme beer/liquor/wine license application will be reviewed during NPU-W Public Safety meeting on March 17. 

Land Use & Zoning (LU&Z)

  • 1078 Moreland Ave SE – EACA soliciting feedback from immediately impacted neighbors and others – contact landuse@eaca.net 
  • 1104 Avondale Ave update – Draft zoning conditions (for discussion only) and a working document intended to frame discussion with the developer and consolidate neighborhood feedback
  • 1224 Avondale Ave (V-21-044) – Requested deferral (April/May) as applicant wants to make variance updates/requests. LUZ approved motion to defer/deny until June unanimously. 
  • SAND approves motion to defer/deny unanimously 
  • 643 Woodland Ave (V-21-044) – Variance to allow for an addition.
    • SAND approves motion
  • 1149 Lonetia Ave & 660 Pershing Ave (Z-20-090) – Application to rezone 17 parcels in BoHo from R-4 to PD-H, for the construction of 21 single-family homes. Application on hold with City of Atlanta, so applicant requesting motion to defer/deny until later date. LUZ approved motion to defer/deny unanimously.

Transportation

  • O4WBA requesting support for letter to City Council with intent to slow down Atlanta Beltline Special Service District (SSD) legislation
  • SAND approves motion to defer/deny until April SAND meeting: 9Y – 5N – 4A
