Online Resources at the Library

By Melanie Regnier

Did you know how much material you can access online with your Atlanta Fulton Public Library card? I sure didn’t. You can apply for a library card online if you don’t already have one, and once you have your card number and log in, there’s a lot of great stuff available. Here’s just a sampling of the digital resources you can access with your library card:

Stream movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films, and educational videos using Kanopy, an ad-free video streaming service.

Learn a new skill via Lynda.com, an online learning platform for business, software, technology, and creative skills. The Lynda.com video library includes courses such as Social Media for Graphic Designers or Photoshop 2021.

If you’re feeling crafty, check out Creative Bug, an online video resource for learning how to draw, paint, knit, crochet, sew, screen print, and more. Step-by-step tutorials will guide you.

Paper is a new online tutoring program for K-12 children, offering real-time learning with qualified tutors, using the Socratic method.

This is just a small sampling of the resources available at your local library. Don’t forget that you can continue to check out books through their curbside pickup system. Check out the new Atlanta Fulton Library website at www.fulcolibrary.org for listings of all their digital resources, as well as information on book clubs, creative writing workshops, cooking and fitness classes, and much more.
